2008!

What do you have in store for us? Lackadaisical on posting, but really loving the time off Bryan and i have had from work - the week between Christmas and New Years always seems like work is almost something you go to as a second thought.

Christmas was quiet and fun this year - The night before we had dinner with Bryan's boss and his wife, sampling grapefruit and champagne, eating truffles (instead of the dog eating them this time) and generally just enjoying each others company. Shelley and Mike had cooked up the works - turkey, ham, dressing (stuffing on the west coast), and all the fixings - its funny to see the difference in energy in everyone from before we ate, to after - sitting on the couch, yawning. the sign of a good meal i guess! Between the 4 of us, there were 7 dogs there in attendance, adding to the wildness of the evening - it wasn't so much relaxing as mostly hilarious.

The next two days brought mainly reading and having fun at home, trips to dog parks and introductions to a Bloodhound whose name was Arlo, adventure walks in nearby parks and the discovery of a sledding hill without snow on it, perfect for Frisbee chasing. Ah yes, and there was an incident with Carmen Electra's Striptease Instruction video tape - which gives you such a good workout, in your belly from laughing so much! Good times... :) We also ate very well, due mainly to my new curry cookbook from bryan (although i think we may be curried out for a little while). I was so excited about it, i made several dishes right in a row, and i think there's only so much a person can take all at once.

Last night we hunkered down and stayed in with Bryan daring me to stay up to midnight (done!) and shouting Happy New Year to our neighbors who were banging pots and pans with as much gusto as little rugrats can (which the dogs thought was really neat, so they started with their own, natural noise making. I put on a Very sparkly pink party dress and slippers, so i think between all of us, we mustered a pretty decent welcome to the new year. Maybe not as decent as Fergie, who was shaking it on tv, but im okay with that. At the moment it is is COLD, and WINDY making our planned day of reading and just hanging around look even more appealing. Happy new year everyone - i cant wait to see what it brings.....
