Gem from a book

"Paul was a very accomplished exhibits man, took great pride in a job well done....but he wasn't professionally ambitious. He often lunched alone with his camera on the Seine, or came home and had lunch with me - chicken soup, leftovers - followed by a brief nap. This habit was probably not good for his career, bu that wasn't the point. We were enjoying life together..."

That little excerpt jumped out to me as i was reading last night, and i loved it. it seems like sometimes its not ok to want to slow down, not do so much, not fight so hard for a career, and it was refreshing to read that doing just that is sometimes the most enjoyable in life. Apparently Julia Child is wise in things other than just cooking!

And a gem of another kind! A picture of Milo from the archives - the day after i brought him home. Little did i know that he would grow into the big beasty that he is today!
